Digital dentistry

iTero scanner

The iTero scanner is one of the most innovative digital devices available, and has completely transformed the way we take impressions of your teeth for orthodontic and restorative work. It can create an incredibly accurate 3D image of your teeth in minutes, without the need for the messy and uncomfortable traditional impression methods.

With iTero, we can show you a preview of your future smile before your treatment has even started! The cutting-edge technology creates a 3D model, which we can use to create and adjust your treatment plan to ensure the best outcome. It also means custom items including Invisalign aligners and whitening trays are very precise and have an exceptional fit in your mouth.

Digital X-Rays

State-of-the-art digital X-rays are superior in both quality and clarity, giving a highly accurate picture of your teeth and jaw. In just minutes, we are able to see a highly detailed image, enabling us to spot and treat even the tiniest imperfections in your teeth. The digital technology means we are able to adjust and retake the X-ray if necessary, without the need for you to come in for another appointment.

The dose of radiation emitted is far lower than traditional X-rays, making digital a safer option, a key consideration for many patients. We can also use the instant images to show you what is happening inside your mouth and help you understand your treatment.

CBCT scanner

CBCT scanner

The CBCT scanner is exceptionally useful in implant cases, used to enhance your treatment and promote a successful outcome. It provides an instant and very detailed image of your mouth and jaw, allowing us to accurately diagnose any issues, assess your bone quality and plan your treatment.

The CBCT scan is fast, pain-free and minimally invasive. The digital nature allows us to talk you through your treatment in detail, providing information based on what you are seeing in the image. The use of the CBCT scanner also minimises the risk of errors during the treatment process, as we have a highly precise picture to work from.

The chairside workflow – CEREC crown in 1 hour

Now, let’s take a closer look at the four streamlined steps that make CEREC the ultimate chairside workflow for crowns:

  1. Scan: Your CEREC journey begins with a high-resolution digital scan of your teeth. Instead of messy impressions, our advanced scanning technology captures a 3D image of your tooth and surrounding areas, ensuring precise measurements and an accurate fit.
  2. Design: Using the digital scan as a blueprint, our skilled dental team designs your crown. The dentist can see every detail and ensures your crown meets your expectations. This step combines artistry and technology to create a crown that blends seamlessly with your natural teeth.
  3. Manufacture: Once the design is finalised, our on-site milling unit springs into action. Your crown is sculpted from a solid block of high-quality ceramic, ensuring strength and durability.
  4. Sinter and Finish: Your new crown undergoes a sintering process that strengthens it further. Afterward, any final adjustments are made to ensure the perfect fit and bite. Your CEREC crown is polished to a shine, ready to be permanently bonded in place.
In just about 1 hour, from scan to finish, you can walk out of our practice with a beautiful, custom-made CEREC crown that’s not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing.

Choose CEREC by Dentsply Sirona for a dental experience that saves you time, preserves your natural teeth, and delivers outstanding results. Your smile deserves the very best, and that’s exactly what CEREC provides.
